Chethru Mahto Janta Mahavidyalaya, Donwarihat was estabilished in June 1969. It was granted affiliation upto Intermediate in Arts standard by Bihar University Muzaffarpur in the year 1970. Subsequently it was granted the affiliation of B.A. (Pass) Standard by the Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Kameshwarnagar, Darbhanga , in the year 1978 with effect from 01.06.1977. In the year 1980 it was declared the constituent unit of L.N. Mithila University Situated Indo- Nepal border, This College has been serving the academic needs of people of both the Countries. The College has gone a long way to establish a milestone in the field of Teaching and learning Permission for Science, Commerce, Sociology and Home Science up to Degree Honors Standard has been provided W. ef. Current Academic Session. The College has produced numerous civil servants, Defence Personnels and academicians. The Number of Students is increasing every year in the College.
Chethru Mahto Janta Mahavidyalaya Donwarihat offer plus two and three year degree Programme in Arts Science & Commerce. The Syllabus for plus II is prescribed by the Bihar Senior Secondary Examination Board, Patna. Courses of Study for Three year degree programme are settled by the L.N. Mithila University, Darbhanga Students in degree classes ( B.Sc. B.A. & B.Com.) can offer one of the subject for their honorus course and shall have to opt two more subjects as subsidiary for example a student intending to study degree course with honours in Science can offer Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology & Botany for honorus course on world study two more subjects of the afore said Clusters like wise, a student of Arts can offer Political Science, History, Sociology, Economics, Psychology, Geography, Hindi, Urdu, Maithili for Hons course and shall study two more subjects carrying hundred marks each as his subsidiaries. In addition, The student of degree class must either opt full papers of hundred marks Hindi or a half papers of 50 marks Hindi and other half Maithili, Urdu, Sanskrit any other language besides teaching from plus II the degree level, The faculty member use to supervise the proposed research work of the research scholars for the award of ph. D. degree.
In Chethru Matho Janta Mahavidylaya admission of students is made on the basis academic records following the reservation policy of the govt. of Bihar, Academic calenders prepared by the Honorable Chancellor is also followed by the college. The syllabus of different courses is coverd by the teaching of the departments concerned Time Table is prepared by the concerned Prof. in-charge Regular internal test are conducted by the teachers in every department in the tutorial classes for the students progress of weak students are given opportunity for special tutorial classes by the teachers in every depatt.
There are six permanent teachers and 19 part time teachers in the college. The part time teachers have been appointed by order of the State govt. Communicated through L. N. Mithila University Darbhanga. Vide letter no. 5224-66/13 dated 11/5/13 fill the requirements of the student out of the six permanent teachers five are ph. D. holders. One faculty member is likely to obtain the ph. D. degree very soon. All the six permanent faculty member have published various articles research papers in different national and international standard journals. Most of them have attended the National and international Conference. Amongst the permanent faculty member, Some members have successfully supervised the ph. D. degree and produced ph. D. under their guidance work the Regular teaching work both theoretical and practical is entirely managed by the most favored mode teaching, Pedagogy, However multimedia Props are used in course of teaching wherever need the multimedia apparatus have been provided by the U.G.C. to replace the connectional made of teaching. Sometimes, Seminars and Conferences are organize to motivate students as well as teachers for new techniques of teaching and learning in the month of January a Seminar on Swami Vivekanand was organized by the direction of U.G.C. Nowadays the works hops Seminars and Conference are organized by the Counseling- Cell to motivate the students as well as teachers.
Chethru Mahto Janta Mahavidyalay a Constituent unit of the L.N. Mithila University, Darbhanga, is situated in a rural and backward area just near the Indo- Nepal Border. The Teaching facility is granted in Arts, Science and Commerce faculties up to degree standard. Though, there are insufficient teachers in the department concerned, the teaching is provided to the students of high order. The number of non- Teaching Staff is insufficient. Event the administration of the College runs smoothly. The Institution possesses good physical facilities with a good number of students the examination results of the College is admirable.
